Press Release:
Old MacDonald had a farm....E I E I O. It was one of the first songs ever sung to you, and now it's much more, as the Sterling Playmakers bring to life a children's classic with their newest production, "Old MacDonald's Farm."
There's more to this play than a moo-moo here and a cluck-cluck there. This one-hour musical is a fun-filled tale of Jim MacDonald and his family, whose farm is on the verge of financial collapse. To raise money, the MacDonalds have turned the barn into a sort of petting zoo for tourists.
But when the farmer brings a lamb named Lucky into the fold, the youngster's defiance clashes with the personalities of the veteran livestock. The grumpy goat, the snobbish hen, the vain pig, the flaky cow, the frisky dog, and the stubborn mule make for a formidable and funny ensemble.
Add to this mix a group of indifferent townsfolk, six talented schoolchildren, a smart-mouthed rich kid, and even a kooky pair of government agents, and you've got enough entertainment for every member of the family.
It's funny, it's touching, and it will get your hands a-clapping. Even the tickets are at a small-town price of $5 per person, available only at the door. So take a load off your feet next weekend and come visit the farm. Grab the family and set yourself down for an evening of good clean fun. "Old MacDonald's Farm" is a hoot and a holler, and your fellow Playmakers would love to greet you after the show.
Ya'll come back now, hear?
