Press Release:

Having won a Best Musical Tony Award in 1951 for its original production, Guys and Dolls is primarily based on the Damon Runyon short story "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown" published in 1931.

Slippery Nathan Detroit, who maintains the "oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York," is seeking a location for his latest high-stakes game and the cops are hot on his tail.  To acquire the dough to rent the Biltmore Garage, Nathan bets high-rolling Sky Masterson $1000 that Sky won't be able to talk pure-hearted Mission worker, Sarah Brown, into accompanying him to Havana.  While Sky pursues Sarah, Detroit endeavors to fend off his girlfriend, Miss Adelaide, who has developed a psychosomatic cold from their frustrating 14-year engagement.  Thanks to some fast moves, Sky is able to convince Sarah by promising to rustle up "sinners" for salvation at the Mission.

This charming story is the basis for one of the greatest musicals in the history of Broadway.  Featuring songs such as "Luck Be a Lady" and "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat," the show is a balance of story, dance, music, and romance.  Guys and Dolls takes us back to an innocent time on Broadway, where the fabulous Damon Runyon characters made even the nefarious seem delightful.  You dare not miss it!
