See You at SterlingFest! October 11, 2008 (10:00 AM–3:30 PM)
Come one, come all and help the Playmakers give back to the
community! The Sterling Playmakers is proud to continue our
support of SterlingFest in 2008. To that end we need volunteers
to help us set up portable stages and sound equipment the
evening before the event, man and/or woman the Playmakers
information booth, manage the Arena Stage, bark out performance
information, perform as a representative of the Playmakers
during our allotted time, and strike the stages at the end.
Volunteers are not required to stay all day, you won’t be alone,
and it’s a great way to promote Playmaker activities, give back
to our base community, or strut your stuff on stage before a
non-studio audience.
SterlingFest is an annual, non-profit festival sponsored by the
Sterling Foundation. SterlingFest is designed to promote
community pride and provide a family-focused event for residents
of Sterling and the surrounding communities. This year's
festival has live entertainment on two stages, refreshments,
homemade crafts, carnival rides, games and lots of activities
for all ages.
The Playmakers, in partnership with SCC, promotes and supports
community theatre in Sterling. This affiliation with SCC allows
us to use county schools and other facilities at no cost. In
addition, our partnership with SCC entitles the Playmakers to
twenty-five percent of the net proceeds from SterlingFest! These
monies are then used to support many and varied Playmakers
productions and events.
We also need an entertainment coordinator to help assemble and
coordinate entertainment for the two-hour slot the Playmakers
have been allotted during SterlingFest.
So the cast list is as follows….
• Playmaker Entertainment Coordinator • Setter Uppers • Information Booth People • Barkers • Performers • Taker Downers
Please contact Jim Johnson at
sterlingfest@sterlingplaymakers.com
if you wish to volunteer for any of the roles above.
Please join us at
SterlingFest this year. Even just an hour or
two of your time will make all the difference in the world!
